Manoir Vintage: French-Inspired American Oak, Crafted in Texas

We’re excited to share Manoir Vintage, a new oak flooring collection inspired by the beauty and character of historic French floors.

Made from American oak sourced from sustainably managed U.S. forests, Manoir Vintage begins with respect for the natural material.

Each board is worked by hand in the Château style to create softened edges, a gently undulating surface and the tonal depth associated with aged oak. The grain and knots remain visible, allowing the character of the wood to guide the final finish.

This approach moves away from the repeated appearance of mass-produced flooring. No two boards are alike, and each installation takes on its own character through the material and its arrangement within the space.

Manoir Vintage is also prepared for contemporary projects. Engineered boards are available with a wear layer of up to 6mm, bringing durability to demanding interiors while retaining the texture and warmth that define the collection.

For architects and designers, Manoir Vintage offers newly crafted American oak with the presence of an older floor: expressive, tactile and far from uniform.

Inspired by historic French oak

Oak has long been part of France’s architectural language. Its strength and durability made it a natural choice for buildings designed to endure, from market halls and abbeys to country estates and castles. In regions such as Savoy, it remains closely tied to traditional construction and skilled craftsmanship.

That history can still be seen in landmark buildings including Château de Chambord, where oak forms the structure of the roof. Over centuries, these materials have taken on a surface character inseparable from their age, use, and setting.

This was the starting point for Manoir Vintage. We studied original reclaimed French oak boards, looking closely at their texture, tonal shifts and gently worn profiles. The aim was to understand the details that make historic lumber so compelling, then translate those qualities into a collection suited to contemporary interiors.

Crafting character into every board

Using original reclaimed boards as a point of reference, we spent more than two years researching, testing and refining the process behind Manoir Vintage. The work focused on recreating the surface qualities that give historic oak its character, using a responsible and repeatable production approach.

Each board is worked individually. The grain remains visible, knots are given presence, and the edges are softened by hand. The surface is intentionally varied, so patterns do not repeat from board to board, and each floor has its own character.

Traditional techniques informed its development, while modern production methods ensure the collection meets the practical requirements of contemporary interiors. The result is newly crafted oak flooring with the texture, depth and considered construction needed for long-term specification.

American oak, responsibly sourced

Manoir Vintage begins with American oak sourced from sustainably managed U.S. forests. The flooring is then made at our mill in San Antonio, Texas, where each board is worked to bring out the grain, knots and tonal variation within the wood.

Hand-worked surface detail and softened edges give the boards a more settled, tactile quality, while the construction meets the needs of modern and ambitious architectural and interior projects.

Crafted for exceptional projects

We’re proud to offer Manoir Vintage as a limited-production collection for projects where the flooring is expected to carry real visual weight. It draws on the character of historic French oak, then brings it into a newly crafted American product with the durability and consistency required for contemporary interiors.

For more than 25 years, WoodCo has overseen each stage of production, from sourcing and cutting through to drying, milling and finishing. Manoir Vintage reflects that experience. Every board is made in Texas, carefully worked by hand and finished to reveal the oak's natural texture.

The result is a floor with a distinct sense of place and permanence. Its softly undulating surface, varied tone and individual board character make each installation genuinely one of a kind, suited to projects where material quality and craftsmanship are central to the design.
