Sodexho Recognized as Leader in Corporate Social Responsibility by Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce

Company programs protect the environment, improve quality of life and end hunger

GAITHERSBURG, Md., November 15, 2007 -The Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce presented Sodexho, Inc., the nation's leading provider of integrated food and facilities management services, with its 2007 Corporate Social Responsibility Award at its annual Business Awards dinner last night.  

Sodexho focuses its corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs in three primary areas: protecting the environment, improving the quality of life for its employees, customers, clients and vendors and fighting hunger and its causes.  

“It is not enough for us to be the leading company in food service and facilities management, we must also be a leading corporate citizen in each of the communities in which we operate,” said George Chavel, president & CEO of Sodexho, Inc. “We don't do things because they make Sodexho look good, we do these things because we can have a positive impact and improve the quality of daily life for people whenever and wherever they come together."
