Burlington, ON - Sodexho is proud to announce that the food service industry's adopted charitable organization, Friends of We Care, will be inducting Garry C. Knox, President of Sodexho Canada into its food and hospitality services Hall of Fame Award at its Annual Awards Gala on April 22, 2006.
“The We Care Hall of Fame Award recognizes those who have made significant contributions to the growth and development of the foodservice and hospitality industry,” Says Executive Director of We Care Kevin Collins.
Garry Knox certainly fits this profile having made a significant imprint on the food and management services industry in both Canada and the United States during his 40 year career. Beginning with Saga in 1965, Garry has held numerous senior executive roles leading up to his appointment as President of Marriott Management Services in 1996.
Garry was instrumental in the merger between Sodexho and Marriott Management Services for the Canadian market in 1998 and has continued to oversee what has become Sodexho in Canada. Under his leadership, Sodexho Canada has grown to over $400 million in annual sales and now employs 12,000 across the country.
A long-time supporter of the CCAB (Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business), Garry was appointed to its Board of Directors in 2001 and to the position of Co-Chair in 2003.

Friends of We Care Inc. is an organization within the foodservice and hospitality industry which is dedicated to raising funds for The Easter Seal Society of Canada, assisting to send Canadian children with physical disabilities to summer camps. Since its inception, Friends of We Care have generated close to ten million dollars, sending over 20,000 children with physical disabilities to special summer camps across Canada.
